Minyma Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Minymata, Inc. processes information when you use Minyma.
Who we are
Minyma is provided by Minymata, Inc., located at 3601 Hwy 7 E, Suite 1005, Markham, ON L3R 0M3. Privacy questions can be sent to admin@minymata.com.
Core privacy summary
Minyma is designed so message and attachment content are encrypted on sender devices and decrypted on recipient devices. Minymata still processes operational metadata needed to run the service.
- Minyma does not use ads or behavioral tracking
- Minyma does not sell or share personal data for advertising
- Message and attachment content is designed to be encrypted on user devices
- Encrypted voice notes are recorded locally and sent through the protected attachment path
- Voice and translation features may process active session audio, draft text, or explicitly approved message content when you choose to use those features
- Weather requests use Apple WeatherKit only when you ask for weather; local weather requests ask for current location only for that request
- The service still processes limited operational data needed for registration, routing, delivery, abuse prevention, and support
Information Minymata may process
- Account and device registration information
- Linked device records
- Push tokens and delivery-related timing
- Queued encrypted delivery data
- Uploaded ciphertext attachments
- Encrypted voice-note attachment metadata, such as encrypted size and delivery state
- Active voice-session audio, generated voice responses, and tool context when you start Minyma Voice
- Draft text or explicitly approved message text when you request translation, summarization, or a voice-assisted reply
- A one-time current location or explicit place lookup when you request WeatherKit weather
How Minymata uses information
- To register devices and maintain account state
- To deliver messages, attachments, and push notifications
- To provide user-started voice, translation, and local command features
- To answer user-requested WeatherKit weather questions
- To support linked-device and account-recovery flows
- To protect service integrity, availability, and abuse prevention
Voice, translation, and third-party service processing
Minyma Voice is optional and user-started. When you use it, live microphone audio, generated voice responses, limited app context, and local tool requests may be routed by Minymata's relay to OpenAI services so the feature can respond. Minyma does not place provider credentials in the app.
The Voice Language setting controls the assistant reply language and defaults to English. The picker includes a broad launch set such as Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Turkish, Ukrainian, Russian, and more. Public Help, Terms, and Privacy Policy read-aloud requests use Minyma's public page text; private message content still requires an explicit in-app permission step before it is read, summarized, or translated.
Minyma does not automatically send your decrypted message history to the voice agent. Message content is included only when you speak or draft it, when you ask to summarize or translate the current draft, or when you explicitly allow a private message to be read or translated. Opening camera, photos, files, or contacts is local until you choose something to attach or send.
Weather questions use Apple WeatherKit from the iOS app. If you ask for local weather, Minyma requests current location for that weather answer. If you name a city or place, Minyma geocodes that requested place instead of using your current location. Weather requests do not change sealed sender, Double Ratchet sessions, Safety Numbers, encrypted messages, or call media security.
OpenAI states that data sent to its API is not used to train or improve OpenAI models by default unless a customer opts in, and that API inputs and outputs may be retained for abuse monitoring for up to 30 days unless different account controls or legal requirements apply. Minymata may update this section as provider terms, data controls, or product configuration change.
Encrypted voice notes
Voice notes are recorded locally, previewed before sending, and sent as encrypted attachments. Minyma does not automatically transcribe voice notes. Voice notes are designed to expire after first listen; relay deletion and device-local deletion may not erase copies already downloaded, backed up, recorded, or captured outside Minyma's control.
What Minyma protects
- Message content
- Attachment content
- Voice-note audio sent as an encrypted attachment
- Attachment keys shared inside encrypted messages
What still exists operationally
- Which user or device is sending
- Which user or device is receiving
- Message timing and ciphertext size information
- Limited attachment transfer metadata, such as encrypted size, upload and download timing, and delivery state
Deletion and retention
Uploaded ciphertext attachments are deleted from Minyma's servers under normal retention and account-deletion flows. If you delete your account, Minyma is intended to remove relay-held devices, queued delivery data, profile information, push tokens, and uploaded ciphertext attachments associated with that account. It does not erase content already downloaded to other users' devices.
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. Because message and attachment content is encrypted with keys that exist only on user devices, Minymata cannot read, restore, or recover that content, and cannot recover access to a deleted account or to an account whose owner has lost their device or devices and any backup they control. There is no password to reset and no provider-held copy of your keys.
Device-local tools
App lock, local reset, and duress features are strongest on the current device. When enabled, duress mode wipes the local device immediately and sends the signed account-deletion request at the same moment, completing on any working connection - but it does not reach content already stored on someone else's hardware.
Security posture
Minymata uses administrative, technical, and product-level controls intended to reduce unnecessary access to protected data. No system can promise absolute security. Minyma protects message and attachment content end to end, continues reducing relay-visible metadata where possible, and remains under active security hardening.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
Minymata may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted here with an updated effective date.
